The site is mainly about using siphons made in Hungary before the regime change, but of course there are also modern solutions if you want to make whipped cream, foam deserts or sauces. There are currently several types of siphons available in Hungary.

A few things that you may want to consider:

  • Products made from stainless steel are more modern than their aluminium counterparts.
  • Cream whippers are typically available in 2.5 dl (half pint), 0.5 litre (1 pint) and 1 litre (1 quart) capacities. The capacity refers to the quantity of raw material (e.g. cream).
  • For average use, the 2.5 dl, 0.5 litre siphon is recommended, while the 1 litre version is more suitable for larger consumption in restaurants and cafés.
  • One batch of whipped cream made in the 0.5 litre appliance is enough for 1-2 coffees a day for about a week.
  • Most modern cream whippers cannot be completely disassembled, relatively few parts can be replaced in-house (e.g. the cartridge puncture pin cannot be replaced despite being a wearing part)
  • It is best to choose a model with a removable dispensing piston. This makes cleaning much easier and eliminates the need to replace the whole head in the event of the piston failing.
  • Only whippers with metal heads are recommended for professional use.
