The siphon head cannot be unscrewed.

The siphon must be depressurised by pressing down the lever. Once all the gas has been vented, the head can be unscrewed.

The soda water is not strong enough.

Carbon dioxide is more soluble in cold water. Cold water, thorough mixing and a fresh cartridge are the holy trinity of strong soda water. It takes time for the carbonation that causes the sour taste to develop, so it is best not to drink the soda water immediately, but after it has been left to rest in the fridge for 1-2 hours. The siphon must also be filled with the prescribed number of cartridges (1 litre = 1 charger, 2 litres = 2 chargers).

I dropped the syphon, what should I do?

Cream whippers and soda siphons have high working pressure inside. Do not continue to use a dropped siphon as it can easily cause an accident which may lead to injury or death.

The cream whipper was unused for some time and has developed an unpleasant smell.

The cream whipper should always be stored with the head removed. If the siphon is smelly, the siphon flask and head should be thoroughly rinsed with dishwashing detergent (the seal should be removed and washed separately) and thoroughly cleaned with a clean bottle brush.

When the charger is pierced, water leaks between the siphon flask and the head.

The siphon has been overfilled or the pipe rubber needs to be replaced because it is worn out.

After the charger is pierced, water leaks at the charger holder.

The valve rubber needs replacing because it is worn.

When the charger was pierced, there was no audible gas flow into the siphon.

If the charger is old, the gas may have diffused out of it. Carefully remove the charger and inspect the sealing element. If the seal was not pierced, the puncture pin may be worn, broken or the neck rubber is not the right size for the pin.

When the charger is pierced, there is an audible hissing sound and the gas blows out.

The neck rubber needs to be replaced because it is worn.

When the charger is pierced, soda water sprays out of the outlet.

The siphon has been overfilled, the spring is powerful enough, or the pill rubber needs to be replaced because it is worn.

Not all the soda water/whipped cream comes out of the siphon.

You have to use the required number of chargers (1 litre soda siphon = 1 charger, 2 litre soda siphon = 2 chargers, 0,25 and 0,5 litre cream whipper = 1 charger, 1 litre cream whipper = 2 chargers). Check all the seals, it is possible that gas is escaping from the siphon so it loses the pressure. For more information on the overhaul, see the repair instructions.

The whipped cream comes out runny.

The cream must be cold and contain at least 30% fat. Poor quality cream can be slightly improved by adding a tablespoon of mascarpone. You have to mix it thoroughly! The other possibility is that the cream whipper has not been sufficiently shaken after the charger has been pierced: 3-6 shakes are required.

The whipped cream is too hard, it won’t come out of the siphon.

The siphon has been shaken too many times: 3-6 shakes are required after the charger has been pierced.

Neither whipped cream nor gas comes out of the siphon.

The dispensing piston may be clogged. It’s worth shaking the cream whipper again (upside down) and then trying again after waiting for half an hour.
