The charger holder is used to hold the charger in place and keep it stable while it is being inserted and the puncture pin pierces the seal.
The component was initially made of metal, but during the 1970s the material was changed to plastic. On Lehel siphons the charger holder has windows, on modern siphons it almost always covers the whole charger.
